The best weather and most consistent fishing in Southeast Alaska is from June through September. Halibut salmon rockfish are plentiful. Both May and September are transition months so fishing can be spotty until stocks show up and the tides settle down. In May, returning Kings are starting to appear and halibut are beginning to feed. September Coho fishing can be phenomenal but the weather can be dicey as tides increase and things start cooling off. The chart below shows a general trend of the fishing in Ketchikan.
